PMU LIPS · Pre-Care Instructions

  1. Keep lips hydrated and gently exfoliated during the week before the appointment.
  2. Avoid lip filler, Botox, chemical peels and retinoids around the area for at least 4 weeks.
  3. If you have a history of cold sores, consult your clinician before the appointment about prevention.
  4. For 24 hours, avoid alcohol, caffeine, smoking, energy drinks and intense exercise.

Never stop prescribed medication without approval from the clinician who prescribed it. Share medical conditions, allergies, medications, pregnancy or breastfeeding before booking.

  1. Clean and moisturize only as directed with the products in your aftercare kit.
  2. Avoid spicy, salty and acidic foods; use a straw and rinse after eating during early healing.
  3. Do not pick or peel. Keep the lips moisturized while crusting and flaking resolve naturally.
  4. Avoid lipstick, gloss, pools, saunas, sunbathing and excessive sweating until the surface is healed.
Healing timeline

Surface healing usually takes 7–14 days. The color will darken, peel, look lighter and then gradually return over approximately 2–4 weeks.

01How much lighter will the color heal?+

Lip pigment can soften by approximately 30–50%, depending on the starting tone, technique, immune response, lifestyle and aftercare. We select the initial color with this change in mind.

02Will lip blush make my lips larger?+

It can improve visual balance and definition, but it does not add physical volume like filler. Pigment must remain within the safe lip tissue.

03What if I have dark or cool-toned lips?+

Neutralization may be recommended before the final target color. It is a staged process and may require more than one session.

04Do I automatically need a touch-up?+

Not automatically. We evaluate the healed result first. Retention, desired intensity, lifestyle and aftercare determine whether another session is useful.

05How long do PMU lips last?+

Results often remain visible for about 2–3 years, although sun, skincare, smoking, immune response and personal metabolism can change that timeline.
